Paving Restoration: New-Look Paving Without the Cost of Relaying

Most paving around Centurion and Pretoria doesn’t need replacing. Sun, rain and traffic strip the colour out of brick over the years, and the open pores start holding whatever lands on them: dust, oil, and the white salt stains no garden hose will shift. If the bricks themselves are still sound, restoration cleans, recolours and seals what’s already there.

What You Get From R149/m²

One service, three stages. We use the CHRYSO® decorative concrete system and apply it with our own teams.

Paving being deep cleaned with CHRYSO Deco Net

Step 1 — Deep Clean

Chemical wash with CHRYSO Deco Net

A pressure washer on its own can’t remove cement laitance — the thin grey film that dulls old paving. Deco Net breaks it down at binder level, then everything washes off under high pressure. The surface comes up clean, porous and ready to take colour.

Paving bricks recoloured with CHRYSO ColourSeal

Step 2 — Recolour

Two coats of CHRYSO ColourSeal

Pick one of 8 colours. ColourSeal soaks into the brick and reacts with the free lime inside it, forming a silicate mineral in the pores. The colour becomes part of the brick, so it can’t peel the way paint does.

Protective FiniSol Brut sealant coat applied to paving

Step 3 — Protect

Sealed with CHRYSO FiniSol Brut

The top coat repels water, oil and dust, keeps stains from setting, holds back efflorescence and adds wear resistance. It dries clear, so it won’t change the colour you picked.

A Chemical Bond, Not a Coat of Paint

Paint sits on top of the paving as a thin film, and sooner or later that film cracks and peels. ColourSeal reacts with the concrete itself and locks the pores from within, so there is no film to peel off. You’re left with a harder surface that sheds water and holds its colour.

We guarantee the installation for 2 years. Expect around 5 years before the finish needs attention — and when it does, it’s a clean and a recoat, not a strip-and-redo.

Bricks Sunken or Uneven? Remove, Clean & Reinstall

From R249/m². Restoration fixes the surface. When bricks have sunk, lifted or gone wavy, the problem is the base underneath — and no coating fixes a base. With RCR, your existing bricks are lifted, cleaned and re-laid on a fresh, level base. Ideal where the bricks are still good but the ground under them has moved.

Add restoration afterwards and the re-laid bricks get the full clean, colour and seal treatment — a driveway that looks freshly laid, using the bricks you already own.

Restoration Questions, Answered

Is this just painting my paving?

No. Paint forms a film on top of the brick, and films peel. ColourSeal reacts with the concrete and becomes part of the surface, so there’s nothing on top to flake off. It hardens the brick too — paint can’t do that.

How long does it last?

The installation carries a 2-year guarantee, and the expected lifetime is around 5 years depending on traffic and exposure. When the finish eventually dulls, a refresh is a clean and a recoat.

Restoration or Remove, Clean & Reinstall — which do I need?

Faded or stained but still level? That’s restoration, from R149/m². Sunken or uneven means the base needs attention first: that’s RCR, from R249/m². Plenty of properties need a mix of both. The free site visit will tell you exactly which, with no obligation.

What surfaces can be restored?

Any sound, porous concrete surface: brick paving, flagstones, cobbles, concrete floors and walkways. If a surface isn’t suitable, we’ll tell you straight at the site visit.

How disruptive is the work?

Far less than relaying. There’s no demolition, no rubble and no brick deliveries, and the coats dry quickly. Exact timing depends on the size of the area — we confirm it at the site visit.

What does it cost?
